US dealers

Are there any US dealers anymore? I dont mind ordering from the dealers in Canada when my order is large enough to get free shipping, but I wanted a EVG-AP-2F Ballast Control Board and the shipping from there was almost the same price as the board itself.

I agreed, we need more US dealers here since shipping from canada is so expensive..,is there any reason why none of US dealer carry any GHL accessory?

Yes we have USA store front dealers, I have said this so many times, go to our website click on locate dealer link then type in your details and we will get back to you with a closest dealer.

We took the bold step to remove as many online dealers as possible in the USA earlier this year, too many basement operations were not holding true to the product name and expected service level.

Then there is the issue of getting any good online USA dealer to carry the full inventory line, GHL is unique it has over 200 accessories, now go look at other controllers you will not find much else on offer other than main controller components, so for a dealer to carry everything, they need to invest heavily in stock, and in this economic climate dealers will not do this, especially if they feel they are competing. This is why we created www.ghl-direct.com so there never is a short fall in locating the item you want.

If you are finding on this site shipping too expensive, please do an evaluation for us and I will look at adding cheaper options, these may include ground or air mail services, but we have tried to avoid these routes as it can take 14 days for items to arrive :(

We have just taken another great dealer on in Richmond Virginia but again store front, but once we get their inventory up I am sure they will be taking phone orders.

Please do not expect to see any online only USA stores in the near future, we are seriosuly not going back down that route.

So why not the bigger stores? Simple we will not bend to their demands of 50%++++ margins, we want to keep profiLux as affordable as possible and will not entertain these insane margin levels.

But feel free to purchase where you like yes you will always find more stock in Canada as we have found it easier to find trusted sources there.

Progressive reef generally have more stock in the shop than we have in the warehouse :) so I always say they are you best bet, and if concerned about shipping costs call them up and ask for a cheaper option, I will let Spencer know this for you

Ottawa inverts ships weekly from New york so thats another option for you also.

I did go to the website, but it was late and so I was going to go back and fill out the form today. Why does'nt it just list all the US dealers? Sometimes the closest dealer is not the best dealer.

I did order my P3 kit from Progressive and they are working with me to add the card I want for no additional shipping charges, and yes they have a nice selection of stock items. I understand the problems with the online only stores and the bigger stores, but for us in the US, Progressive is just an online store only.

I would love to see a store like Premium Aquatics carry your line. They carry a great selection of products, have great customer service, and are centrally located to most in the US.

Thanks and looking forward to all the new stores coming online.

The simple reason, dealers asked us not to because of constant calls from companies asking them to carry their products. There is an increasing amount of distributors that will not openly list their dealers. These list become marketable properties for other uses

Why not big stores? As I said above - the expectation of margins!

Just want to add another point about large stores.

GHL is a product that requires dedication to its user base, it can not be sold as "box shifting inventory" Every potential clients needs are different and the store must be prepared to spend the time required to go through every option the client may wish for.

larger stores do not have the time for this, especially as said before GHL has over 200 accessories, in fact if you take all the lighting options into account also the inventory total is nearer 400! NO other controller manufactuer has this amount of accessories available to the product brand.

GHL is exclusive, unique and highly engineered, it has to be marketed sympathetically.

We even thought earlier this year of going down the direct supply route completely, and if it was not for two very dedicated dealers to the brand name we most likely would have done that. I know many of you wanted us to do this, but we chose instead to meet the thought half way and launch GHL direct.

Completely understand.

I also dont mind waiting for a product if the shipping is priced right. For a part such as EVG-AP-2F Ballast Control Board that is really small, you think shipping prices would be less. I would love to order direct from GHL if we had some more shipping options, otherwise I will have to save up until I have a larder order to make it worth the price of shipping.

Feedback is always important to us, so this week i will address this for everyone, I just hope we then do not get heaps of complaining emails when items take up to 14 days to arrive :(

this is the sole reason we have not gone down this route to date.

We did try the shipping out of New York method but this could only be done through carriers such as UPS and of course that a cost in itself.

On a final note if anyone wants their local dealer to carry the product line get them to contact us, but they must be aware they have to carry inventory! Drop ship in general is not an option, we might as well sell direct and enjoy the affordability of a holiday once a year in that case ;)

Thanks for the reply.

I understand that you can not please everyone. I would think when we went to place the order and select a shipping option it would say if you select this option it will take up to 14 days.

I am still going to look into some of the US dealers.
