We have VERY, VERY LIMITED access to any type of quality corals and fish. Some stores won't answer their phones and are highly overpriced. Some have browned out corals and aptasia problems. Others have hair algae and flat worms....
So why is it if we are proud of the corals we get from a reasonable, well-run, clean, informative supplier we aren't allowed to happily show pictures of what we have acquired because then we are "shilling" for the seller. Get real mods.

The people in question are above reproach in my oppinion. I once asked a question of one of the owners and was told that he doesn't conduct any business on RC...that he is there strictly as a hobbyist, and would not think of breaking the rules. But I was free to access his site because he is an RC sponsor and we could go from there.

Now I'm guessing that enjoying corals and showing them off is now going to be a NO-NO to the Mod Gods if we get them from this particular seller. Come on guys, it's not like were flooded here on the SW side with quality shops, where we can get honest answers to our questions and be treated fairly. I think passing that info onto other reefers is only being fair and neighborly, nothing else.

I pay for my RC membership and am glad to show my support for you guys...I am not a shill, I am not being paid or bribed to post pictures of my corals...really, look in my gallery at my Superman monti...who wouldn't be proud?

It's it perhaps a matter of other sponsors complaining of our loyality...tell them to get their standards up and we'll spread the wealth, but until then honest, open discussion between hobbyists is the only way to find what we are looking for.

This will probably be pulled and I'll be asked to kindly leave the RC family and if that is the price to be paid for speaking the truth...so be it...

since when can we not talk about LFS that are not sponsors? i thought they just cant promote themselves but LFS that are sponsors can. maybe i didn't read that part of the forum rules because they don't apply to me. hehe

This particular business was a RC sponsor and have been told they could no longer be a sponsor on RC...because people talked about their corals too much....why not, they are GREAT Corals...I'm proud

Nope, you won't be asked to leave, but if you're unhappy, feel free to leave.

No one gets kicked out for "speaking the truth." Trying to needlessly stir up controversy, on the other hand, is an easy way to find yourself on the outside.

YOUR half of the story doesn't add up to even a fraction of the information we have available. Our decisions about what we allow and what we don't are well thought out and based upon RC's rules as well as OUR KNOWLEDGE of the history of the posters in question. We won't, however, share all the info WE have with you. It's not necessarily public knowledge, and in any case, since you aren't making the decision, we don't feel we need to give you "full accountability" on all issues, many of which involve privately obtained information and confidential information between the staff and members. I'm sure you'd appreciate it if we wouldn't publish info we discover about you when it really isn't anyone else's business.

Feel free to stay, but if you are only here to cause problems, don't be surprised if you find yourself unwelcome.
