Ushio 14K 175 MH

Jeremy my income tax refund is comming soon and I am still deciding on new bulbs for my Fish only system (will be getting corals again soon. I will be replacing my 15 month old hamilton 10,000K true germans and I am thinking about the ushio's 14K. My question is will they be able to run on a mag ballast? Just wondering.

Hi,

We haven't had much feedback on the new 14K ushios yet, but since they are a german bulb like there 10K, I would say most likely you might have some start up issues. If your ballast is pretty new probe start magnetic, it might work fine, but you just never know.

So mostly they'll need a pulse start or electronic.
