they are supplemented with vho atinic and 50/50

thanks

I'm running 250-watt DE's, so different wattage and type. But I just replaced my 10K AB's for 14K Ushios. They are a little less yellow, but still nice and white. If you like the AB's, then you will like the Ushios.

SE 400w EVC10k here. I've been around the world and back on lighting set ups and am now finally happy.

Kip.
I am using EVS for almost 2,5 weeks and they still looks yellow for me. i running them on HQI ballast. DO u think it takes more then that to burn them in?

mike

I just put in some USHIO 14k's Crisp white. Def need some supplement with them. I am running T-5 Actinics

I just started using the 400W as a standalone bulb. The initial color was slightly yellowish at first. I don't know if it's because I'm so used to using 20K's, but it seems to have settled into a crisp white with blue tint after the break-in period.

I exchanged a few emails with Ushio to confirm that this is the same as the BLV Nepturion (euro version). At 214 PPFD (HQI ballast), I found my favorite bulb:)

Thankx Karl
For who long u been running this bulb? I've heard the is a color shift after 5-6 month...

Yep, Alexander Gerz try them ,and he told me he notice color shift. Some one from England got the same problem...Keep ur eye on this..

I will. It could just be a mismatch of bulb and ballast. It seems underdriving or overdriving a bulb can both have negative effects. I think most Ushios are high current bulbs, so they might match better with an HQI ballast. Whereas, underdriving them with an e-ballast will cause some of the gas to remain stagnant.

I'm no expert, though:p

Possable, but HQi in Europe not the same Hqi what we have here in states:)..
Have U try Aquaconnect-14k bulb>?

mike

I have. I've mostly been a blue-light guy over the years, but am now starting to move away from that. I'm starting to like the higher CRI, and being closer to what the corals actually look like.
