Using a Gen 1 To Start My Garden Seeds

I don't see many people do this and post but since I have an Gen 1 hanging around unused (I broke/cracked a 40 breeder in my move), I decided to start my seeds a little early since we are getting 12 inches of snow tomorrow.

This will be the progression of the seeds while indoors.

Here is the graph I will use for the duration.

Excellent idea, you get today's gold star for creative thinking. It will be interesting to see how the seeds grow.

If your crop does well, it may turn out to be a new revenue stream for Ecotech. :)

I'll be interested to see how this progresses.

I moved a Gen 1 over my display refugium last week, replacing a 200w cf grow light.
(It's outside the frame of the pic. The radion you see in the pic is over my frag tank.)
I expect the macros to do better, but a bit worried about the mangroves.
The problem is, lowering the blues to get more yellow light decreases the overall par. Almost need to swap one of the blue channels for more whites. But I'm just speculating. Will see how it does!

Side Note-I also picked up a Bonsai Ficus Plant for my office.

I realized that it would not have a ton of light when I am not there. So I bought a lamp light and a 2w LED builb on a 16 hour timer.

Germination has begun.
Day 7- Sunday, March 12 2014

This is awesome! I'm using a G2 over my dart frog vivarium (12x12x18") using the FW Plant Schedule and the results have been pretty amazing, all grown from 2" or less.

The back green cups are coffee plant seeds.

I also have a internet cam recording it so I can do a time lapse video at the end.
