value of huge clam?

I'm picking up a tank with a 18" clam in it. Not sure what kind of clam it is. Its a brownish mantle with bright blue/green spots. It is absolutely huge. Is there any demand for such a large clam? How much credit do you think I can get at the LFS for it?

The value is dependent on many things but the main ones are
1. Type
2. Size
3. Coloration
4. The Buyer

Coloration and Size are the two biggest factors in my opinion. Rare color and patterned clams can command quite a price. Post some pictures I'm just interested to see.

i agree.

the value will depend on what someone is willing to pay but gigas's don't demand as high of a price as other species. it should still get a good $$$ depending on size.

please post some pics and dimensions when you get him.

large clams do not like to be moved from aquarium to aquarium. Take precautions to ensure it's safe transferral.
