Ventilation Fan (?)

My 100g sump in is the unfinished part of my basement.

After my FURNANCE and my WATER HEATER both RUSTED out due to the amt of corrosive salt in the basement air..... I decided to build an 10ft x 10ft fully ENCLOSED drywalled room isolating the sump away from my furnance/water heater, etc.

Now that the room is fully enclosed (entry door to room has neg pressure on it proving the room is well-sealed)... I need to ventilate this room by using a fan connected to a std 3in pvc pipe that will push air thru an outside wall thru this 3in pvc pipe.

Before i go punching a 3in pvc pipe thru an outside wall....anyone have advice on what kind of VENTILATION FAN?

1) cheap bathroom fan knowing i will have to replace it every couple years when it rusts out?

2) radon ventilation fan cists about $140 at homedepot or lowes...but not sure if that fan would rust out every couple years (?)

Need recommendations on fans plz

I use an inline fan for a similar application. iPower model off amazon.

Agree on inline fan! I tried regular ceiling bathroom fans and they don’t cut it! Find an in-line fan and you will be good to go!

Similar thing happened to me, I had to insulate the copper pipes running in the ceiling near the sump.

Questions about the fan idea...
Won't it rust?
How much heat/AC will it suck out of the house?
Won't the negative pressure pull radon into the basement?

I assume our skimmers produce aerosols with salt in them and that's where most of the problem lies. If there was a way to vent the skimmer air I would do that - and it would add a small amount of negative pressure to the room on its own without a fan.

Unless your house is hermetically sealed, I'd doubt there would be enough negative pressure to worry about. Though, when I put in my inline fan I set it up to blow in not out.

There are some nice plastic exhaust fans available with out of the air stream motors that will last indefinitely.
