Does anybody have a Chaetodontoplus mesoleucus, the Vermiculated Angelfish?

If so, is it in a reef? How long have you had it?

Any info. would be great, because there doesn't seam to be much.

Thanks.

i had one that i lost to velvet during qt. i hear there hard to keep and usually donot last long in captivity.

The way understand it is that they are another fish that arrive in the LFS damaged or sick.

I have one that seems to be doing fine so far. I've had it about a month I think. I kept it in the refugium for a week first which is heavily laden with green macro algae. I only put him in the main tank once I was certain he was eating well. For the first few days he mostly hid behind the algae, but gradually got comfortable enough to swim about the refugium.

He started eating mysis the second day or so & by the 7th day was chomping it straight from the turkey baster.

Now that he's in the main tank I move "ugly sponge" up from the fuge for him which he seems to appreciate. When I first put him in the main tank , he went crazy for my clams. Yesterday I moved 1 clam back & he hasn't touched it. He hasn't bothered any corals but I have no SPS. He didn't show any interest in the open brain in the refugium either.

I wouldn't trust one with clams though - That may be part of tier
natural diet. Seems like I read that they may eat Euphylia, but he hasn't touched any of the 2 species I have. Although he does "eye" them in a suspicious manner.

Anyway - hope this helps :)
