Vertex Illumina Light Studio Programming Thread

Hmm 100%, doesn't look like what we usually how to interpret things, there probably is a bug there. But it works is all it matters. Thanks for sharing.

Moon Light

Moon Light

Hi all,

Just received my SR 260 and I am able to set the day time but when I try to set the moon light I cannot seem to get the times to come up. I used expert in the Day light area and all times are set but in moon light I cannot get the times to come into play. Also when I try to exit the VLink it tells me the Start Up Settings are not set. They are for the day but I guess the moon is not. Help please. Thanks! Dave

Moon Light Update

Moon Light Update

Ok - I see where it sets my moon light intensity on what colors I used (50% RB). But its at 50% all day and night (24 hours). How do I get it so it goes to 0 at 8 am through 8 pm and then grows from 8 pm through the night and goes back down buy 8 am? Thanks! Dave

I don't have the software here but you must have selected Moon Light, you should select the other option I believe called Lunar Cycle or something like that, from there you should be able to do what you indicated.

Thanks - I changed it to "Lunar." When I exit the software it still states that the start has not been identified. Thoughts? Thanks! Dave

After you set the moon settings, you should click on the Apply moon setting button. then you need to click on the Start-up setting button which will store all fixture settings into its flash memory so the settings are saved against power failure.

Any thoughts on the following;?...

I received my new Red and UV modules today. Installed physically no problem! Updated firmware on vstick without an issue. Started to upgrade firmware on controller, got to 17% and errored out. Now the led module closest to the controls just continually blinks. I can still view the controller in Vertex, but can't upgrade the firmware... Ideas? Thanks!

Reset the power and then start to update again. But before you do that make sure that the communication between the stick and the fixture is very strong, like under -60. I literally placed the stick just underneath the fixture's controller module by the use of a USB extension cord, I usually get -46 signal strength.

If you get the error during the update, just click on the restart button and then it will restart the update on the problem module.

In the past like about 2 years ago, this Restart button is not in the software, I had to remove the splash guard and physically pressed the reset button on the LED pad. There is an instruction file when you download the firmware, it tells you how to physically reset the pad. But I doubt that you need to do this any more.

There is one guy on another forum asking for help in updateing the firmware and he got a lot of errors as well. I pointed out the communication is the key but I believe he just ignored my post and kept asking questions for the next few days before someone again pointed out the communication issue!

Thanks for the tips, I'll give it a try. I did reset the power last night and now when I try to upgrade the firmware I select the file and it just goes back to the summary page. I never get the option again to start the upgrade process. I have tried this on two different laptops and get the same results...

Which firmware are you on? I have the same thing as NotClear the Restart button is there. Pretty easy in case of error.
As stated the connection is the key.
USB extenders are cheap and readily available. Having one will make things much easier.
I wish they would include one in the package.
The Comm is via ZigBee which does have a good range but I guess dependent to the ambient signal interference.
Cheers
Dave

I don't think mine is a connection issue. I am literally on top of the controller. The issue is that I select firmware update within Vertex Desktop and select the .bin file and then it just goes right back to the Vertex Desktop. It never brings up the Firmware upgrade module... Same results on two different laptops.

I shown nothing - bottom just shows Vertex Systems. I don't see a lamp strength anywhere? When I go to Summary - I show my controller, but the Firmware Version now just shows a 1... I followed directions exactly and literally had the adapter on top of the controller on the first attempt.(I'm an IT guy so I do stuff like this all the time...) - I have tried reset options with same results. Thanks for the help!

I'm pretty sure I don't get the lamp indicator because the upgrade firmware module never comes up. I've tried now from 4 different laptops, all with the same results. When I click on firmware update, I select the file and it just goes back to the Vertex Desktop. The Upgrade Module never comes up...

I find that if you maximze the desktop software screen you will see the signal message at the bottom.

Also try to place the v-stick underneath the controller pad instead of on top of it.

Ok, just tried with it directly under with same results. Here are screen captures - 1st shows the summary page, 2nd I select the firmware and then it just goes back to the summary page. You'll also see at the bottom(maximized) no lamp indicator...

Hi Notclear- question for you back on the moon light. First thanks for all the help. Ok so here goes. I set up in expert all my times from sunrise to sunset and all seems to be going just as planned. Then I added the lunar moon trapezoid and the graph looks just fine. Every thing is moving along and at 10 pm at night all daytime graphs are a zero. But at 9 pm while it only has a bit of royal blue and blue to burn off until 10 pm, a bank of white lights goes on - I cannot associate this with anything in the day or moon settings. Any thoughts? Thanks! Dave
