Vertex Illumina Light Studio Programming Thread

Will pulling a full LED panel from other fixtures to install into mine work or are they locked into each new fixture their installed into?

Disregard needed help! LoL

Tried firmware update and many modules failed so I did a firmware reset.
After 30 minutes of errors and dead LCD screen it all turn on with all modules updated and working perfectly.
Self repair & updated it self which I have no idea now it did it by it self.
Glad I didn't ruin this light but I fear future issues that could randomly happen like to other people.

Just a day after it fixed itself something happened!

I linked up and was adjusting moonlight settings then suddenly it won't respond or turn on. Looked at firmware and shows it went to version. It dumped the new updated firmware by itself.

Trying to replicate how it fixed itself before which happened randomly on its own.

Right now it won't load any firmware and is on version 1. All attempts to load firmware shows many errors.

#1 error popup window
((("Cannot retrieve Module number information, please set manually!")))

#2 error after attempting to update firmware
"Firmware update FAILED for module #0(Error Could not send Otap Line)"

Clicking on Light Studio only a few modules works as seen in the photo.

All these errors happened exactly the same before when it suddenly fixed itself afterwards.
Today it didn't do a random self fix and still not functioning correctly.

Did some troubleshooting and found that the battery is dead behind the LCD. Ordered a new battery and lets hope it storages the firmware and solves the problem.

CR1216 battery has 25mah capacity that's factory installed behind the LCD screen.

I highly suggest upgrading battery to higher capacity before your battery randomly dies and dumps its firmware.

CR1220 battery has 35–40mah capacity
CR1225 battery has 50mah capacity

Everyone's factory installed battery is due soon to die soon since these lights are getting older.

Installed a new battery and still not working but displayed a new error message.

The new firmware in the V-Link can't connect to the old modules.
Need to find the old firmware for the V-Link.

Highly advise everyone replace their LCD battery with (CR1225) battery, since it has the highest capacity to last the longest inside the LCD panel or else your firmware will erase when it dies. With power on then replacing the battery will prevent your current firmware to not be erase.

Found out it's not the newest firmware that's causing issues.
It's the LCD panel that needed updating!
The LCD battery dead so it needed the firmware to be uploaded into it.

LCD panel is (-1 \ -1) and Master LED module is next to LCD panel indicated as (0 \ 0)

To force firmware update into LED modules; the reset button next to white connector needs to be pressed & held for a few seconds before & after powerup. Had to reset power & procedure a few times for a few modules that failed to accept newest firmware.

The original installed LCD battery manufacture is (Camelion - CR1216) 25mah capacity.
Installed on November 2012 which lasted until February 2019.

Installed a (CR1225) battery 50mah capacity that has double capacity of (CR1216) which will increase the years until I have to replace the LCD battery again. Hopefully these LED all die before the next battery change is required.

Over 6 years and the LED light output is still as good as new.
Vertex safe voltage settings is really expanding the life of these LED.

((((( IMPORTANT: COMPUTER UPDATED )))))

If the your java was updated and V-Link fails to connect to your light then do the update below to your computer.

With the recent update from www.java.com which is required to open (Vertex Desktop) program your new USB driver needs to also be updated. I used www.drivermax.com to automatically find & update my USB drivers. The (V-Link: USB stick) must be plugged into the computer to ensure the USB drivers is functioning correctly before updating USB drivers.
