So I just got this system used from a guy and he said all filters where replaced a month or so ago, so here is my question it has been running for like 4 hours and barely made 5gal of 0 ppm rodi the thing is it's supposed to be producing 4gal a hour so idk what's wrong maybe thinking my membrane is a bit clogged ? Anyone have any suggestions. Also my di resin chamber is almost empty, like there's rarely water in it, is that normal ? Any help is greatly appreciated. This is my first rodi system so a bit confused if how it works.

No one has any help? It's like my rodi is creating more waste water than actual rodi clean water and the booster pump is running too, psi is around 100psi.

What is your TDS goin in? Is it well water or city water? Is there a flush valve on it?

As far as your di resin canister being half full just loosen canister and let it fill up loosening the canister will let air out but that really don't make a difference.

something isn't right. can you post pictures of the setup? with a booster pump, it should be producing 4 -5 gallons per hour.

To tell you the truth I really dont know what the city's tds is maybe in the high 300s, and yes there is a automatic flush valve on it that flushes every time I turn it on.

Sure took some yesterday. In the picture the thing I didn't notice was the sediment filter was in the carbon slot and carbon in the sediment side, I switched it up as soon as I found out and seems to be running a bit better but not as good as I've seen on YouTube videos about it. I will be replacing the membrane and seeing if anything changes.

having little to no water in the DI thing is normal it fills up about 2-3 inches

i thought the same exact thing when i got it too like damn i already broke it -

another thing i have been running my system ( exact same_) and the TDS meter is i would say GARBAGE go buy one yourself -
my TDS has been reading 00ppm for like 2 years or a year aned some change - every now and again i see it pop up to like 13 or 9 then during the process of making like 20 gallons or so it goes to 0 - next time ill use the machine it starts off at 00ppm - not sure whats going on with that -

the unit should be getting 1/1 water ratio as well especially with new filters -

something may have been tampered with because my booster pump runs at 100psi ALWAYS no matter what faucet i use whos house etc which is important because they said that the speed of the water has a lot to do with how well its filtered

Oh ok so my di is normal, if you woulda never mentioned that about the tds meter I would have just always payed attention to it lol until I saw a algae bloom in my tank so I'm forsure going to be upgrading I'll get one that measure water going in and out.
Also yea my water ratio is not 1-1 more like 4-1 or more than that, my waste water stream is good flow and my clean water some drops every now and then. My psi gauge also reads around 100 maybe a little more.

I have same unit. My tds is running at 0-3 into di so I've purchased new membrane and blocks. My di is fine. It takes 38 -40 minutes for 5g when at its optimum and right now it's about 45 min and I'm running a higher waste:RODI ratio. Hope that helps

yea mine last night took 4hrs or more to produce 4gals of clean rodi. I think I'm going to buy a new membrane.

Are you running your RODI during the evenings? Try running it during the day. Incoming water temperature plays a factor. Hot summer days I get a 1:1 ratio. Cold winters days or late evenings it gets as bad as 3:1

Will do, thanks for the info.

This may be some dumb input, but make sure your flow regulator on your waste is closed all the way, this may help with your output of your RODI water.

Isn't it bad to regulate the outcoming flow of the drain side ?

This was the clear instructions on my device (Triton 100). ONly needs to be open to fully purge waste after use. Since it's a drain valve and not a full close valve it's still going to waste water according to requirements. Maybe some systems are different.

i have the exact same well i cant say that but i have the 100 or 150 gpd vertex puratek deluxe or whatever 5 gallons takes all of 1 hour 20 minutes - at my other house it was an hour and 10 minutes - but i do need to replace my filters - also that tds meter is bs do not believe it
