Get your outlet out of the water, this causes back pressure on the pumps and will decrease performance.
Not bad for only 5 days of break in. What is your bioload?

I've still got to dial it in. I only had time to set the water level and it was off to the airport. It is sitting in 8 inches of water. The skimmate is a little wet for my liking, but the water is MUCH clearer, and there was definately less algae on the glass than I am used to after a week on the road. [/B][/QUOTE]

I just bought a 250 for my 29 gal and I love it. It had the gen 2 pump but the prop was warped and had to be replaced. I have it in about 10-11" of water. Works great. I don't have enough room to raise it up but it works good. And yes, I am upgrading to a 110 hopefully soon. It is worth the extra money to not have to upgrade latter.

I will try raising the skimmer this week sometime, I will probably remove the pipes coming out of the T as long as I don't have too much turbulence. I have a moderate to heavy stocked 125 with mixed SPS and LPS corals, two tangs, and 6 other small 3-4 inch fish.

Wippjas, have you tried replacing pipe A with a longer longer?

I believe that these parts are metric, and they would be difficult to find state side.....

Duh, I'm talking about switching it with one of your other, longer peices. It seems to me that an outlet tee one inch above the bubble plate is weird. I would guess that it should be higher.

There are no longer pieces. Why is that weird??? You adjust the water height within the skimmer with the wedge pipe, not the height of the outlet like some of the older skimmers. Having the T submerged keeps the outlet water from splashing and creating more bubbles.

having the outlet submerged will cause backpressure in the skimmer and make it unstable. have it slightly angled with half of the pipe out of the water

What other pumps have you all tried with these skimmers. My resun pump on my IN-80 crapped out after 14 days :( I'm hoping marine depot will hook me up with another pump or something. But just in case they don't, I was curious what other pumps ppl are running.

Exactly Wippjas, if you aren't happy with the skimmer, it is worth a try. Try and figure out which peices you have, then think of how you could switch them and use a longer peice on the bottom. I would be glad to take a look at all the peices you have and see what we could figure out.
Believe it or not, the tee DOES make a difference in where you set you wedge/outlet pipe. It dictates the foam/water level in the skimmer and how much water actually goes through the skimmer.

IME I only tried a Aquabee 2000/1 . It ran fine but looked ghetto as I had to used teflon tape for a fit . Take your pump apart and see where it went wrong . It may start back up . In the meantime contact MD so PROLINE can get u whatever part you need . U have the 590 Resun so keep your fingers crossed . PROLINE will replace parts through MD . I had plenty come from PA . Great support . As far as the 590 resun pump . I think I have said enough on that subject from prior posts .

I called up MD and the are sending out a new impellar, which seems to be the problem others are having. The pump did end up starting back up, but was SOOOO loud I couldn't stand listening to it.

Anyways MD is fixing the problem! TWO THUMBS up for great customer service from them!!!!

So far there is nothing about this skimmer that I am unhappy with. I may be able to make it a bit more efficient, but I am very happy with its production thus far. I will experiment with the outlet a bit just for curiosity sake.
