Vertex Skimmer club

This will have a Red Dragon Mini pump, however it has an extra large volute on it, pulling a ton of air, at 1500lph!

Also, this is a Bubble King skimmer, with the Vertex name. This is completely made by Klaus @ Royal-Exclusiv, with the exact same materials that into the Bubble King's. There is no difference between them in that regard, only the design difference. HTH!

that's pretty sweet, i love my msx160, but this would be even better for my bigger tank to come and a little cheaper then the Bubble King Supermarin 250 Internal.
Anyone with more specs.

I have to say I am pretty impressed so far. It is already producing some skimmate!

Pics!

Since I cleaned it though I am having trouble getting it to stop bubbling over. Any ideas?

Anyone have a problem with salt bulding up at the connection of air intake tubing and the pump? Every month I end up with that connection clogged, then the skimmer overflows and skimmate fills my sump!!! Solutions?

not that often but all skimmers get salt build up at air connection i clean mine once a month and every 2 weeks i pour hot ro water in airline to help dissolve salt build up. Clean skimmer cup inside out once a week, this is all a must to keep skimmer running correctly if not your tank will go south quick.

With all my skimmers, regardless of brand, I put the air hose under water to let it suck water while I clean the cup. This helps to keep the build up from occurring.

hoping to have mine back up soon waiting for a pump under warrenty PA has been trying to resolve the issue 1st a new impeller then a shaft now I just have to wait for a new pump. I am ready to order a oceanrunner pump or something else. I know PA is trying to resolve it but I am getting frustarted trying to be understanding as well.. when it works great but this is going on 3 months now.

different beasts really. The pump is better on the octo X 200 but the 250 moves more water. What size is your system.

200 gal including sump and fuge and I don´t want bigger skimmer than the models I´ve mentioned because it wouldn´t fit.

I agree, I said the same thing on the other thread.

Supposedly, the neck and cup of the vertex will fit into the OCTO X 200 and you can use it as an extended neck.

Any one have an extra one?
