Can't remember, I'm getting quite rusty.....seal go on the water side, or dry side of the bulkhead? My dementia is getting worse. My dementia is getting worse

Thanks,

Got it Dave. Thanks! Any luck with finding those funky street elbows??? If not, I'm gonna fashion my own from standard parts, which will mean my overflow box will have to be larger.

re: dementia

Sierra Nevada 'Celebration' has got to be one of the finest I've tried to date.

Oops! Wrong thread :strange:

Had some Torpedo's last night Gary, if you haven't tried them (a Sierra product) I highly recommend it.

Ben, They have everything but those dern 1 1/4 x 1" slips at Lowes and HD. I've not been able to find the ones Beananimal chronicles on his sight. I bought some that are slip x slip in those demensions at Lowes just now. I'm going to trim them down and use a piece of 1" pipe to make the portion that will fit into the bulkhead.

It is going to stick out from the back wall of the tank just that much further, which is irritating, but only in principle. I'm urked I can't find the ones Bean used. Overall, we're really discussing about 1/2". While the front to back dimension of my new tank is 3 feet, I realize this sounds absurd.

almost chose Torps instead of Celebration couple of hours ago. Celebration appears to be a seasonal brew so I'll probably be "forced" to try another SV product soon..........

thanx to you folks LaBatt's has lost a good customer!

:)

There has to be plumbing supply in Syracuse. Look in the phonebook; it may be under "wholesalers" but they should sell to you.

Ah, I didn't realize that was the size that you were looking for. I was never able to find those for my beananimal overflow either, and using 1 1/4 x 1 1/4 with a reducing bushing just takes up too way much space. Somewhere around my build posts in that thread are a series of people trying to find that part locally and online and just not having any luck. I'm convinced that it doesn't exist.

I'm using 1" x 1" street elbows on mine and I have no complaints at all.

Thanks Dave, but honestly at this time, I'm just gonna jerry-rig em n move on. This project has been progressing way too slowly. Kickin it into gear!

Ha, yeah Ben, I'm afraid you might be right. I couldn't find em on-line, despite and extensive search. The jerry-rigged version should do just fine, with only about 1/4" added on to the profile.
