My 5 year old cat Nikki, is bleeding I think from her mouth.
She has been very quiet the last few days, I just thought she was going through a jealousy spell. Tonight when I picked her up, she let out a scream, and drops of blood came out of her mouth. She is strictly an inside cat, never outside. So I know she didn't get in a fight, or hurt that way. She eats the same thing my other cats eats, and they are fine. I am worried, I would take her to the vet, but at 630 on a Sat night, none are open. And the emergency hospital is way to expensive, since I lost my job last Sept. I just don't have the money for that. Am I just over worried (maybe she bit her cheek), or this is very serious.

Maybe you just spooked her (maybe she bit her cheek)? Maybe she got into a scrape with one of your other cats? Fell of the sofa? Fell down some steps? Not being a cat person, I have no idea. Just guessing.

Maybe she heard you say "sloopy dippinshorts", and bit her tongue trying to laugh.

I hope Nikki gets well soon.

That happened to one of our dogs once. She stopped eating and kept hiding behind things. It turned out she had a tooth problem.

I'd take your cat to a vet if possible. I seriously doubt that a bad tooth will bleed.

Not only that but picking them up should not irritate a bad tooth.

I had one that didn't like being picked up that had a urinary tract infection and they are quite serious.

well I just got back, Nikki has a hole under her chin, Looks like one of the other cats must have got her there and we didn't notice it. And tonight it got ripped open again. Thanks for being here while I needed someone to throw ideas my way. You all are great.
