VHO distance from MH

With winter approaching, my two neighbors will soon be ready to build me my new custom light rack so I can retire the temporary ghetto version.

I obviously want the VHO actinics to be lower than my MH, but if I am forced to place them partially under the end of one of the MH fixtures, does anyone know if I should keep them any minimum distance away? Will the heat from the MH cause any problems with the VHO bulbs?

it will decrease the bulb life a bit, but can be mostly negated by good airflow through the canopy. as far as minimum distance, there's no real number but the further away the better

From personal experience... don't worry about it. Mine are less than an inch from my MH bulbs. I've never had a problem. Just change them when they don't look very actinic anymore.
