vho width in canopy

how much of my canopy will vho bulbs take? i think they are a inch in diameter. how close together can i put them? I want to run 4x110watt vho on a 48" tank. How much room would you think that would take? 8" be a good estimate?

A t-12 lamp is 1 1/4"in diameter. Lamps are measured in 1/8" inches. T-5 is 5/8": T-6 is 3/4: T-8 is 1": T-12 is 1 1/4". You can put them within a 1/16" of each other if you wanted to.
