VIBEX or WHELK

I purchased 50 nassarius vibex snails from ebay a few days ago. They almost all made to me fine except a couple which died.
I introduced them to the tank and everyone of them went directly into the sand bed. I was concerned they may accidentally send some whelks, I have heard of this happening.
Just now I noticed one of the snails on the glass. I read somewhere that nassarius will not get on the glass but whelks will. The snail looks identical to a vibex but it is on the glass
Does anyone else know if vibex snails will get on the glass.

Vibex will go on glass. Or at least mine do

I had read on melevs ID page that they would not. I definitely think this is a vibex.

Unable to post a [pic right now. Keep getting told my file is too large. First I have ever been told I had anything too large LOL.

Anyway the shell is a light color with some dark areas.

they have the two common nassarius snails here http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/scateg.cfm?pCatId=526 most the time the lighter shelled ones are the good ones. whelks have a smaller foot, and when they move the shell stays in line with the foot. Nassarius snails shell will point off to the side,about 45-90_Ã"šÃ‚°.
