Visiting Nashville

Sorry to barge in to your TN forum :) I will be in Nashville next week (downtown area) for work and was wondering if there are any nice stores close by? I'll have a car so i can drive around a bit. I may also be interested in buying frags from folks that work in the downtown area (lunchtime swap!). The usual suspects for a new tank needed. Xenia, bright GSP, zoa's, kenya, etc....I have a new 75 gallon and it needs some inhabitants :D . Thanks!

The three main stores in the local area are worth checking out. Here they are with a link to a map for each so you can decide which one(s) you want to drop by. Aquatic Critter and Emerald Bay probably have the best coral selection. Fins usually has some nice pieces as well.

The Aquatic Critter (http://www.aquaticcritter.com/) |<a href='http://www.mtrc.org/vendorpages/aquaticcritter.html' target=_blank>MAP</a>|
Emerald Bay (http://www.ebayfish.com/) |<a href='http://www.mtrc.org/vendorpages/emeraldbay.html' target=_blank>MAP</a>|
Fins of Franklin |<a href='http://www.mtrc.org/vendorpages/finsoffranklin.html' target=_blank>MAP</a>|

i would really try to hit emerald bay. They seem to have a better selection of corals at slightly better prices than the critter. That might just be my opinion though.

Well, a lot will depend on the hours. I'm only in Nashville for 3 days and will be busy during the workday. The Franklin one i can probably swing by on the way in to Nashville. Hopefully i can catch EB right after work.

Sorry but I have to dissagree, emerald bay does have very good prices and they are very nice people but every time I have been in there the tanks have lots of algae in them and the corals all appear to be in poor health. At the aquatic critter all of the corals seem to be in very good health and the tanks are spotless. I'm an out of towner also but I have been in both stores quite a few times. EB is definantly worth visiting, don't get me wrong, but I have never been there when there were as many corals as AC.

I think they all are worth visiting. Some will be closer than others based on your location. Sometimes it depends on the day of the week when you get by the stores as to what stock they will have. I don't think you could go wrong going to any of them.

Well, my post disappeared.. but what i said was, there is only one nice store in my area so visiting others will be a treat. i will hopefully be able to visit them if they stay open until late in the afternoon. i shall do some research.

I haven't purchased corrals before, but i've been looking online and what people are asking in the forums. Although EB had a good selection, i thought their prices were high for the quality of the corals there. It may have been the lighting or just the selection, but i didn't see much that excited me. Even the display tank looked bland to me. Anyway, hopefully i can hit the other two!

The aquatic critter was an outstanding store. As someone mentioned, the corals were healthy, colorful and the tanks were clean. Not only did they have a nice coral selection, they also had an excellent variety of fish. As i guess everything in this hobby is, things were what i considered overpriced. However, this store ranks amongst the best i've visited.
