Vortech and acrylic tanks

I would think that if they got anywhere with that, I would have one since I agreed to pay for it. They may have decided that my issue was not widespread enough to devote valuable development time.

As far as pics of the dedicated fans setup, they are just the run-of-the-mill 6" clip on fans you can get at any store. I have them mounted to the wood base for my fuge with the fans just a few inches from the motors.

It is very effective but of course, requires more space and electricity. I doubt it would work in a viewing room tank install. I only installed them on the one side of the tank because that was the only place I had an easy mount for them.

If that is not sufficient, I can take a pic for you, no problem. :)

Got it. No need for a pic. I bought them for my new 250g and the fan idea is tough since the side panes will be viewable. I wonder how difficult it would be just to mount a small 2-3" fan to the motor assembly itself. Seems easy enough in theory. May look into it, though I could alway mount the VT's on the back of the tank pushing to the front, but it's only 24" deep from front to back.

If you peel back the label you will see what I am talking about. I guess it would be best for Tim to answer questions about that topic though. It seems entirley plausible to me, but there could be some engineering roadblock I don't know about.

On a bare bottom you could even attempt to mount them under the tank. Anyway, without the support of Eco-Tech, it will be a while before I have a working prototype with a cooling fan.
