Vortech MP40w-Controllable

Hi I'm interested in the Vortech MP40w-Controllable but just wanted to increase the flow in my tank. Do I really need the MP40W or can I still use the MP40?

The only benefit to the MP40w is the pulsing wave control.

I thought I read somewhere that the new wireless driver will also modify the running speed of the Vortech, making it run at a lower revolution in the lowest setting and at a higher revolution in the highest setting (than was allowed by the old drivers). I could be wrong though...

Get them quick, from what I have read the mp-40 is no longer being shipped to retailers.

The MP40w does not pump a higher flow rate, but will pump a lower flow rate than the MP40 model. Also, the randomized modes and feed mode are other advantages to this model other than pulse mode. It is also roughly 10% more efficient than the MP40 model.

It will make a great addition to any aquarium, whether the purpose is just to increase flow or to create waves.

tim- can you set the wireless controler to be in wave mode and then say 30min later switch to pulse back and forth and then back to wave mode or do you have to manually switch the settings from wave mode to pulse mode? -jon
