Jeremy,
I just got my vortech today and i'm having some issues with it.
It will not spin. This is my second vortech so i know how to install it. It tries to start, but it turn real slowly about one full revolution then shuts off.
Thanks - matt

Hi Matt,

Sorry to hear about the troubles with the Vortech. I will give Ecotech a call first thing Monday morning and see what I can find out for you.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Jeremy....got it figured out. For some reason it wanted a different pin spacing than my other one which is set @ 3/8"...this new one is on one click less(towards 1/4"). (tank is 3/8")
Not sure why, so I guess that is my question now, since I have it running fine now.
Thanks Jeremy, looking forward to hering from you or the Ecotech guys.

Hi Matt,

Ecotech said that this can be somewhat common in the very beginning. They said to combat any problem you may have by increasing the speed/power, and as the pump breaks in more that this issue will go away.

He said he wasn't sure on the reasoning as to why one pump wanted less pin spacing than another pump, but he said to just go with that works best for each individual unit.

If you have any problems please let me know.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Sounds good Jeremy, thanks for the follow up.
I did notice this new one has a red rubber piece on the wet side...I believe that has been done away with on the new units(or at least now black)....so if this is an original unit that would explain these issues as the first batch or two had issues that are now for the most part resolved.
Like the one I already had, not one issue since i got it(newer version).
Once again, thank you Jeremy....great customer service!

All VorTech pumps have a red rubber o-ring on the wet side of the pump. There should be no other red parts besides that. You can tell how new the pump is based on the serial number, yours should be a 0701XXXX serial number.
