vortech wet side O ring expanded?

I soaked a wet side in vinegar last night, taking it apart so I could clean it well. Today the O ring that goes around the wet side seal with the screen is expanded and will no longer fit properly? I've never had this happen before, any ideas on how I can get it to shrink back down? It's been dried for over 4 hours and still is at the expanded size.
