Vortech will suck up what creatures?

Yesterday, I discovered about half of my coral banded shrimp stuck to the side of my MP20. I forlornly scraped it off and gave it a burial at sea. I didn't think that I had any creatures that would have problems with getting sucked in the input, but after this event, I put the foam sleeve on anyway.

Well, this morning I woke up and was greeted by my freshly molted coral banded shrimp. I was happy to see this, but still I am left wondering what specific creatures should I be concerned about getting sucked into my MP20.

Nudibranchs and anemones are the most at risk. Otherwise anything that is super small or delicate may be at risk of a pump at full flow. Many people start out initially using the foam guards but I've found most people ultimately stop using them.

One of my stomatella snails gets shot out of the cannon every couple of days or so. I see him go flying across the tank and he lands on the sand and just takes off as if nothing happened. :)

FatBaldingJerk, that was so poetic, I had tears in my eyes...

Honestly, I wouldn't be overly concerned. I've had issues with Anemone's, but nothing else. I have two in my 180 (one left, one right) creating a 3/4 wave, so they're hitting pretty hard. My algae blenny can sit on it without much cause for concern since there is so much water intake space. My skunk cleaner also goes and sits under it occasionally to clean.

had two fish fall victim to the vortech. one had its spine break and the other somehow slipped into the vortech and got cut up so bad that he died the same day :\ i use the cover now, but id use them every time you introduce a new fish. they dont realize what a danger a powerhead can pose. my new chromis swam right next to the powerhead and you could see their tails almost go in the vortech
