waiting for dryness so I can mow the lawn

some folks still have standing water in their yards

No puddles here... just waiting for a few hours of sunshine to dry out the jungle called my lawn.

In the meantime, maybe I'll snap a pic of the clamlike thing growing on my powerhead..... or check the yet-to-be-used this year swimming pool.

Omg gary please don't tell me you have ocd with your lawn like my husband lol and yes our pool is yet to be opened :( need to take a drive to get a new skimmer for the pool(sometime soon)! Ughhh so behind this year but now we've got the pool bug so it may make my job much easier ( im hoping) haha

I run a lawn and landscape company. I'm a little sick of the rain.

what's ocd?

what's ocd?

*sorry*

I'm not obsessed with cutting the grass. I just need to be able to see the kids when they go outside to play :)

Ryan- I see your type of business is suffering at the moment. Hopefully this Summer can dry up a bit and we can see lots of grass growth.

Gary- My father in law decided to ride his mower last week and got it stuck in the yard it was so muddy. Seems to be drying up slowly but surely but these storms just dumped another inch and everything is all soaked again.

This has got to be a record year for precipitation between the snow and now the monsoons. I'm cutting my lawn twice a week when the weather breaks. Grass is growing 1/2" a day.

personally, I've never seen it this bad. Grass cut on Friday afternoon needs another cut on Sunday evening!

The grass over the leach lines at my parents house never grew this fast!

Great weather for growing Hostas, though.
All my cacti and succulents are doing extremely well, too.
The Douglas Firs just exploded with new growth.

Is this how it is in the Pacific northwest?

You got that right Gary!

nice, Mike!

nice, Mike!

right now I have 4 or 5 different species of Hostas here. I love 'em.

freekin' clouds are starting to move in now.
I think I'd better pull the trigger and mow now.......................

Hubby's out mowing the lawn as we speak. I can hear his feet squishing from 20' away.

Sunshing and 90 () in a few days!

I'm cleaning my powerheads today. They have become entirely too fuzzy!

BTW. OCD=Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. More Reef Hobbyists have it than most think...lol.

I've never seen Hostas grow this tall this quickly. Usually they are a nice low bush but these ones are sky rocketing.

thanks for explaining ocd!

thanks for explaining ocd!

I don't have it but 'As Good As It Gets' is one of my favorite movies.

My lawn is now mowed but it's gross. Lots of wet clumping. Still too wet to work the trim. You can almost feel the humidity rising from the marsh when the sun pokes out every now and then. Time for a Torpedo!

along with my yard

along with my yard

my life is a big beautiful mess :lmao:

I'm not a perfectionist.
Believe me- I hear it all the time :debi:

perfect!

perfect!

case in point:

my neighbor just complained about the grass clipping I left laying in the street.

turns out he's a customer of the company I work for.

:debi:

mmmm i love the smell of hot steamy grass clumps. i skipped the beer, and went for the brown liker. most reefers seem to like booze as well.

Captain & coke ;) mowed the lawn AND trimmed the hedges AND watched the driveway get sealed. The better half painted the kitchen! Very productive day.

gosh darn dog of ours is now barking outside.

no coke or booze to be found around grandmother's cupboard.

I hope the neighbors don't mind.

God say a prayer for me this isn't good!
