oh...there have been several boyfriends already Ray...i think he's used to the boyfriend thing, but me with a license and a boyfriend WOULD be a different story LOL

Go easy on your old man, Liana. It ain't easy being the father of a teen aged girl. I speak from experience, my oldest girl is now 23, and I'll tell you, I'm not looking forward to 14 through 18 for my little one.
On a side note, was that you on the boat ride @ the Aquarium today? I really thought it was, but I was afraid to say hi incase it wasn't you. I'd just look like some creepy old guy talking to a young girl.

Thinking of a short road trip to Hempstead Harbor and doing a little seaweed/snail collecting after dinner

I did a little boating today as every weekend and collected some sponge (moorish Idol food) City Island is loaded with the stuff.

I know, disquesting isn't it. But that Idol loves the stuff.

Paul if i was a Moorish idol id be in heaven! The sponge looks pretty neat though :) Have you seen lots of Bluefish chasing bunker in your travels? According to the fishing reports there pretty plentiful now.

Chris, there are supposed to be plenty of bunker but I have not seen any at the surface. According to my fish finder there is plenty of something down there, I think they are blues because they are too big to be bunker. Yesterday a guy in my marina caught a 12 lb blue from a Kayak at night. It must have pulled him quite a distance.
I haven't dove this year in the Sound so I can't tell what else is down there.
Romain, looks delicious. I collect some thin stringy seaweed in tidepools for my fish.
Have a great day.

Paul if all goes according to plan ill be able to answer that question from experience next weekend. :) a 12 lb Blue in a kayak? Thats gotta be an interesting ride! :)

Chris I just spent all day on the Sound. From Manhasset harbor to New Rochelle and I did not see one school of bunker. I did see people catching fluke and blues though. We did not fish, we just partied all weekend. :mixed:

Someone's got to do it.
paul:dance:

Paul you have a tough life LOL However ill leave it to you to find a way to handle it! Good to know there is still fluke around. Its been slowing down the last few weeks so ive read. Last time i went fishing was 3 or 4 weeks ago out of Huntington on the James Joseph. I took home a few keeper fluke :) Funny how i never cared for fish before but i now really like fluke alot. Pretty tasty cooked up with a few assorted spices :)

Hey Paul, the stuff on the first pic, is it something that could be kept alive in a reef tank? ( assuming that fish wont eat it first )

What's that, a mouse???

Olemos, I really don't know but I doubt it. The sponge it lives with I can't keep alive for an hour. The stuff in the first picture is not as common but you could find it in docks all over City Island. Maybe the next time I go there I will collect some and keep it under water to try to keep it alive. It is pretty nice looking.
