Wandering anemone

I bought two anemones. One is an RBTA and the other a GBTA. It seems the RBTA has stayed in the spot it is at for around 4-5 days anyway. The GBTA, on the other hand, is still wandering. I picked him up last Thursday. Right now he is at the top of the tank so I doubt it'll stay there either, especially when the lights come on.

Any ideas how or when it'll find a spot or will it keep wandering. Is this healthy?

It will wander until it finds a place that siuts it (depending on the light and flow it likes) when it does find a place it will pretty much stay put until something changes. At this point I wouldn't say it was unhealthy, give it some more time. How does the mouth look?

bta are know to to move around for weeks before they stop. just make sure he dont get suck into the skimmer or powerhead like the other guy. lol

i dont understand why more people dont do what i did. go to the lfs, and find a good piece of lr that has a comfortable crevice for your bta's foot. guide the nem's foot into the new rock, throw it into wherever you want it in the tank (provided the flow and lighting is good) and wham. that nem will never move.

I put him in a nice crevice when I put him in the tank. It stayed for a day then moved and is still moving.

Good to know BTAs wander quite a bit.

Thanks.

While that is a good method and does work in some cases, ultimatley, the anemone will choose where it wants to anchor its self.
