Want a centerpiece anemone

I think they walk around on the platform to see what available, then go to the best spot. My does that.
If you have a wider platform they would walk all over that before settle down IME.
I dont think they have a brain to consciously choose one spot over the other, just they likely "remember" the area and know to pick the best spot. How they remember without a brain, I have no idea.

Well the nem's been looking so good I almost don't want to add any clowns :)

Get a small pair of 1inch or so clowns. Its hilarious watching them play in a large anemone and almost get lost in it.

While a pair of percs or ocellaris are still in the running, it'll likely be something larger, from the clarkii complex. I still haven't ruled out moving these from their own tank, into the reef:

I have found that with members of the clarkii complex and mags, the clowns spend a lot of time hugging the base of the anemone rather than swimming through the tentacles. Just something to think about.

With that said, a friend of mine had a pair of small chrysogasters that did spend a lot of time buried in the tentacles. I have never kept bicinctus with a mag and would be curious to see how they interact with one.

Mag is looking great and those clowns are beauties. Clark's are rambunctious, but a good size mag could handle them no problem.

Thanks... still not sure if I will move them there. Still hoping for a wild pair of bicinctus.

But they are tempting me...

I always liked clarkiis but I also hate them... They are hard to keep with any other fish..

I have a pair and they are mean and they get really large, they cruise the tank just looking for things to beat up on..

About the only thing I can keep them with is things more aggressive like tangs and a super mean pseudochromis.. Your tank is larger so it may not be as much as a problem.

Never again...

I added my second vortech MP40 to the tank (finally got around to repairing it). I've set the two on opposite sides of the tank, on a 2 hour long pulse mode setting, anti-sync.

So, the mag's tentacles sway one direction for two hours, then the other direction for two hours. It appears to like it, as it hasn't moved, and it's visually really appealing, IMO. More so than the crazy random flow I sometimes see with mags.

I agree with this.. I will go farther and say with anemones I feel it is a must to feed them, not to make them grow but they seem far more healthy when fed. I feed all my anemones. I know people have bta's they dont feed and they live a long time.. But are they healthier, can they resist disease better?

To me getting food off zooxanthellae aint healthy.. That is just glucose which is sugar, Would amyone be healthy eating just sugar...

I like to feed mine as well. They seem to do a lot better for me. Surely it is good for them and I would think it would surely keep them healthier. Everybody has to eat right!
