Want Pair of H. Fuscus

Hello everyone,

I have been reading and researching about seahorses for quite some time trying to figure out which type of seahorses to get for a nano tank that I am setting up for my wife.

I have decided to get a pair (male&female) of H. Fuscus due to their smaller max size as adults, ability to eat frozen food and overall quality.

PROBLEM IS: I cannot find them anywhere!!!! Does anyone know where I can get a pair of high-quality H. Fuscus now? I spoke with ORA and they are no longer breeding them, and I spoke to Mr. Underwood, excellent guy, at Seahorsesource and he doesnt have them currently, and probably wont have any until after January.

Please let me know if you know anywhere to get them, I greatly appreciate the help!

Hmm seahorsesource's website states they are available? Maybe they have not updated the site?

Seahorse Source is the only commercial breeder that I'm aware of. Although it seems like a long time away, trust me.... you will not be disappointed waiting until they are available from SeahorseSource again. Excellent quality and the best customer service around.

On a side note, I always like to remind those living in warm summer climates that seahorse tanks usually require chillers during the summer if you live in TX, AZ, CA and other hot summer-month states. Additionally, all-in-one boxed tanks run hot right out of the box, so modifications must be done from the start. Not to mention the smaller nano tanks aren't suitable for even small species like fuscus.

nobody i know of has any fuscus available ATM. i know Dan is out, and as mentioned, ORA is no longer doing fuscus. there was an advanced hobbyist/breeder doing them, but he's also out of them.

January isn't THAT far off, and Dan (SH Source) does have great SH...

Good News!!! Seahorse Source called me back today and they had a pair that they are going to let come to my home!!!! I am so very excited to get these guys, now I am a tad nervous because I want to take excellent care of them.

I will post pics once I get the pair of H. Fuscus on Friday...wish me luck!

Congrats..... Once you get them you will be hooked for life. I am a seahorse slave...... if only I had never gotten my first pair many years ago. I'd def. have lots more cash ......

Hello Everyone,

I received my absolutely wonderful pair of seahorses (H. Fuscus) from Abby and Dan at SeahorseSource.com on Friday, and they are doing awesome, really enjoying their new tank and family.

My 5 year old decided to name them Abbey and Danny after the owners of Seahorsesource.com after I was talking about the highly personable and excellent service I received from Abby throughout this transaction.

They were originally meant as a birthday present for my wife, but the whole family is just glued to the BioCube watching them float and do their thing.

We are hooked big-time and are joining all the seahorse lovers everywhere!
