I would like to keep a carpet anemone. I have nothing as of yet, so I need help on what supplies I should get. I know the tank needs to be set up and run for 6 months to a year before adding the nem. I was thinking of starting out with a 34 gallon aquarium (its 30"L X 18"W and I forget how tall) that the LFS has for sale for $100.
I would rather not do a sump/fuge, but use an overhang filter/skimmer. The only inhabitants of the tank are going to be the nem, a pair of clowns and a clean up crew of snails.
The reason for not doing a sump is space, I am planning to set this tank on my dresser don't really have room to set up anywhere else.
What lighting should I use? Would a 4 bulb T5 be enough light? What light do you suggest?
Filtration, I like aqualcear filters as they have lots of room for stuff in them. I was thinking of running an aqualcear 70 along with a HOB protein skimmer. How do you protect the nem from the intakes?
Power heads. How many, what kind? Again, how do you protect the nem from them?
Heater, what is the best heater to get and how to protect the nem? I was thinking of making a false wall in a corner with holes in it for water flower and putting the heater behind it?
