I am waiting on my 50gallon breeder to get here so until then I want to start planning on my species tank, which you guessed it, CLOWNS!!!!! I have about 160 lbs which obviously isn't all going to fit in there.. Idk how much i should use.. What are the perfect conditions for a clown species tank, depth of a sand bed? Amount of rock? Aquascaping? If you guys could help me so I can go ahead and prepare I'd really appreciate it!!!! Some pics would be awesome too! THANKS!

Since you're not willing to wait more than 2 1/2 hours for an answer. Try the search button at the top of the page and do some of the research yourself.

If you are just going to keep clowns, it doesn't really matter how you set up your tank. If you plan on having anemones in your tank, then it will depend on what species of anemone as to how your tank should be set up.
For any reef type tank 1-2 pounds of LR per gallon is enough.

Hmmm... The search function always seems to work for me. Try "supporting" that which you demand timely answers from; and you too will be able to search for answers for your questions as well.

Cheers.

If you are not an experienced anemone keeper, you should go with a haddoni. A ritteri (H. magnifica) requires a special rock structure, intense lighting and a current pattern that is tricky to master. It is also very difficult to find a healthy ritteri.

A haddoni will prefer a 3-5" sand bed. Enough current to move its tentacles but not lift its "skirt" all the time will be fine. I don't know how deep a 50 gal. breeder is, but I'm guessing less than 20". If that is the case, you can get away with 4 T5 bulbs or at least 200 watts of PCs, but more (metal halide) is better.

I'm gunna ignore irrelavent comments.

I have two 150w MH's. Well does anybody have a site for anemones? Where I can do some researching? I still have a lot of planning to do, just if somebody could point me in the right direction I'd be happy :)

This is about the best compilation of anemone info on the net or in print.

FWIW: I don't know if you realize it, but your tone from the very start has been that we owe you something, like we should all drop what we are doing and get this done for you. I'm sure its not intentional, but that is how you are coming across.

Oh, well I apologize for the wrong vibes sent out, still kinda lost on how I was acting if yall owed me something seeing that I asked, but again i apologize for any thing that seemed rude.

Does anybody have any experience with saddleback clowns? I think A. Polymus? With them pairing and spawning?

they get big are agressive nice looking though one of the harder clowns to get a nice breeding pair of

Okay, I know some clowns are harder to pair up, I've done well with GSM clowns, so should it be pretty easy to pair these guys up?

no reason they would be easier than GSM but if you did it with GSMs then you are probobly preppared for it

they do love haddoni like a GSM in BTA.

Alright, well I guess it's a match made :) Any other advice you can give me? I look around the anemone forum and you seem like the genius around here =P

no most of the "anemone guys" know allot more and have way more experience than me i just read allot here and have decent reading comprehension :) FWIW my Buddy has an A. polymnus (sp) and a blue haddoni and they look great together in his 240g

lol, aight well i appreciate the help, I'm still trying to think of aquascaping, its hard because I know carpets are sand anemones.. I want to have a lot of sand room, and a lot of swimming room.. not like a full reef, maybe just like a rock out in the middle of no where in the ocean with a haddoni and a pair of clowns. kinda get my visualization? lol
