Warner Marine Now Has A Pellet Product

Mine tubbled right away, but I am using a much smaller reactor (TLF 150). I also used 500 ml of the WM pellets. I think my problem was that I had them tumbling too fast. I didn't seam to notice any difference in anything (skimmer production, etc.) until I slowed the flow down a couple weeks ago. Now my skimmer seams to be pulling more.

500 ml in the TLF 150 took up a little more then half the reactor, I imagine your reactor looks almost empty with it being 6" diameter. It's probably allowing channeling through the media, since it's not very thick. Just my opinion, but you probably need to add more media or use a smaller reactor.

Hey Bill! We met once in Angela's house when I lived in Nashville, I'm the guy that had the 180 inwall build.

I am tempted to go with the full dose, but I want to avoid the bloom since i have some nutrients in the system: no3=3 ph4=.08

Sure i remembered you, I just wanted to save you some wasted time IMO and tell you to throw the whole amount in at once! I'm above that now and It's working well for me:)
The tumbling may be because it does better the more there is in the reactor or the flow is not enough.
How goes it down there are you doing OK?
Bill

Bill, Your not useing GFO anymore? I'm out of GFO and realy don't want to order anymore. I added more pellits to my reactor so now it is clear full. It's a kent reactor and I have about 800ml in there my display is 90g sump 30g and frag tank is a 40 breeder. So my total water valume is around 160g.

OK, my 6" reactor aint gonna work. Is anyone using a dual BRS reactor? I may just order one of those since I have some points and need more 2 part.

Does it tumble ok in a BRS dual? I really want to avoid paying over $100 for a neew one

Shake them up a bit, they could be gooing together already. They kind of need to be physically separated initially sometimes b4 they tumble OK on their own. Also adding more will help the tumbling _ I know that sounds counterintuitive, but it seems to be the case for most here.

That's the one I'm using and it works great, Another good one is the PM reactor It's a little more but good quality.
As long as you can fit the max amount in the reactor that you may need to get the desired results go for it.
And yes I quit using any GFO/Phosguard a few weeks ago and so far so good.

Doing great in sunny Orlando FL ... I miss Nashville like crazy though. The good news is that I am all settled and my tank has never looked better.

OK, got the 500 ml running on a rigged up clear canister from an RO unit i had laying around ... and it's tumbling great! This will only need to run while i receive and build the new DIY reactor from Avast that I just ordered. I added 4" which will make it 18" high. Here's the link:

Yeah their service has been great! Does yours tumble well?

Hey I see you have a multicolor angel in your reef from your avatar. How has he done. I just added one along with a pair of flames a few weeks ago. So far so good! I'm even thinking of trying to pair the multicolor

Awesome! I think I'll just let it go and see what happens. If I have to order more I can get it from BRS which literaly only takes a day to get to my house.

Hey platax you r not too far from me. I live just south of you on Hwy 27 in Davenport.

While I was at MACNA a few weeks ago I had a chance to speak with Jon from WM about the EB. He did say that the entire amount was recommended. But he also stated that some aquarists had experienced algae blooms when they started with their entire batch.
Some aquarists here like myself have started with less and so far have had no algae blooms but as poolkeeper says you will not know the whole effects of EB product unless you go wth the full batch. Take look at your bioload.

I am so exciting!!!
I got mine from Jon at March SCMAS club meeting (3/19).
Phosphate dropped from 0.05 ppm to 0.02 ppm in one month (3/19~4/16, both are Hanna Photometer result, test done by Steve Garrett)
Last night Mario test the sample for me during club meeting (5/21, using Hanna Photometer), the number hold at 0.02 ppm
No GFO

Update again, hopefully not too late
:)
Got test result from Steve Garrett last night www.scmas.org club meeting(9/17/10)

Phosphate 0.01 ppm
No GFO

Well, reactor went online today. I ended up building a manifold, and running separate pump to it. I need to upgrade the pump in the future, but it is working good for now.

I'll post some pictures of the tank and setup tomorrow. 1000ml in a TLF550 reactor.

I agree. It all depends on your reactor and the pump and take into account what flow will be from pump to reactor.
I think the answer is whatever gets them to a slow boil.

Whats the recommended flow rate for ecobak. I keep reading a mixed of 100GPH and 300GPH, not sure which is true and most effective.

On the Next reef MR1 Tall the 100gph is not enough, Jon from WM did say that the more EB you use the more it displaces water in the reactor the better they should tumble. I do know that this theroy did not work with me using a 132 gph pump at 500ml of EB.
