I think the next fish i will buy will be a copper band butterfly and a six line...and that will be it....then lots more coral...i love six lines they are small and do not seem to add a lot to the bioload and those copper bands as so nice..but still not 100% sure on that fish...going to wait a month or maybe more for the new tank to become more stable. Oh i would like a goby not sure which one yet...i love the golden head ones...but again don't want to over do it on fish...i plan to stay on top of water changes this time around lol!!

i would like to get a cleaner shrimp also....i am going to wait till my eel eats again though before i put that in there....eel is still on his hunger strike--verrry annoying but i know they do that. More snails also on the way.

Equipment list that i still would like/need to buy:

New light...250watt mh i really like my coralife fixture so i think i will get one of those when a deal comes around.

Reef Commander water unit!! i like not having water at hope so i can go to the store and get it everyday but i do need it so buying that soon!!!

a bigger uv light...usa current i think is the brand i was looking at....some higher then 40 watts would be idea....looked a 57 watt and like that also....i have about 150-160 gallons of water in the system so want to keep it looking good.

longer ways down the road would be a controller...i like the Reef keeper elite a lot...i like the look of it lol and i talked with the company about it and they are coming out with wireless updates or something that i like.....would be nice to get text message alerts about the tank when i am at work or on vacation.

Reactors...i am not at the point where i need them yet but when the time comes i think i will go that route to keep the tank stable.

Supplements:

i am hoping to get everything i need from water changes but i will dose when needed...right now i am adding calcium to get it up higher...using search reef advantage, and am looking into kalk for top off water.

well thats about it for now...getting some new corals this weekend and would like to let my brother pick out something when he is in town...---some SPS i hope lol.

well nothing knew yet...buying some more stuff next week....but in the mean time i have done 2 30 gallon water changes, 1 a week for now, and changed my fuge lighting to reverse the display hoping it speeds up the growth. Also turned the flow up on the return pump a bit and raised the calcium up so not its over 400 should be closer to 450 at this point and all other parameters perfect. more later!!

happy thanksgiving all....sad new my eel died....found it on the floor after i got back from work......managed to get a few feet from the tank and i did not notice it till i was home for a few hours....must have pushed the egg crate up....had him for about 5 years and it was 2 feet....well my luck right lol....some fall it took also about 5 feet. anyways getting some new coral this weekend now that my older brother is back in town!!!

Happy Thanksgiving! Sorry about your eel:(

thanks its all good now that i am cooking and drinking lol....love the food!

matt I hear you except my tang didn't jump out of the tank, he died this morning as well, had 5 crabs circled around him picking away when I approached my tank this morning, so ticked off ..... i started my own thread as to WHY!"!"! lol good luck, and happy thanksgiving

yea i dont know what happened.... maybe it was too soon on my whole EARLY TANK IM IN A RUSH thing, but all my params test PEREFECT, i didnt even see a cycle, as the lock was all cured .. so I dont know time will tell, basically im done on adding until i can afford my lights i think, however there is a guy local to me that wants me to take his 12 in snowflake off him for free, which I really don't want to pass up.... so,,, maybe ill add him ... lol

let me see the pics of the jbj and a quick explanation of how u did it, i was looking at the same one for mine, wasnt sure how to do though :D awaiting your response!!!

will post pictures tomorrow.....it was very easy, i just am using a 10 gallon tank for top off and a maxi jet 1200 in it. i had the 10g and lots of maxi jets already so i am happy....i am looking into what kalk mix or something i can put in my 10g to keep my parameters good. i tested for phosphate and it showed up as 1.0 but i have no clue how...no more eel so not a huge bio load lol and i am doing weekly 30 gallon water changes and running enough renew and phosphate media for a 160 gallon set up. all corals and fish are doing well though.

sweet, sounds good to me... I'm really curious to see your top off. As well as hear how you do your Kalk thing, I've heard and heard and asked and asked, and still am just way to scared to try anything I dont know, All I hear is too much and Snow Flakes, not blended enough and burning blah blah... I wish I had a friend in the hobby that could help. But its all me. =/

little update...this is the new auto top off...makes things much easier and stable...love it...and some pictures of the tank and corals....and the fuge...i have so many green tip anems i moved one to the fuge for that clown for now.
