was my 75 build nows its my 110 tall

ordering my lights as soon as someone buys the ones i have right now...i am just getting a 250watt fixture for now and will save up for the lights i have in the picture above on this page...after seeing the reflectors in person i like them but the other model...forget what it is called appeals to me more..the one thats the square shape. Big BIG sale this friday at my LFS so am on the hunt for some new SPS!!!!

My LFS had a huge sale...with food and all...and i bought a few things....

i know the tubes are a bit crazy looking but i am going to build a manifold off of an external pump later on down the road rather then run these different things off of maxi jets.

oh i am picking up my 250 watt halides tomorrow....its not the retro fit i posted above...thats too pricey right now...and its not the ebay stuff i was looking at...the fire stories and such are not worth the rish for me. A local is selling a this fixture...its 1.5 years old..with 5month old 10k XM bulbs!! Its a Hamilton fixture btw...having a hard time find a good picture of it...but i will post tons tomorrow when i have it on the tank!!!

thank for reading!!

Look'in good so far paulie! but you really got a deal as the XM IMO looks way better than the Ushio also the manifold idea sounds great as it saves electricity can tubing! :D

thanks thats good to hear...what do you think about reeflux bulbs i know someone with 10k 250watt and they are nice and white

I have the 12K and they're alright, gives my tank good color balance but i really want to try the 20K and 10K XM's, Radiums', and 12K sunbursts as they are nice a crisp blue/white to my liking

yeah i love that shrimp got it for 17 tonight...i don't think that was bad at all....great size and its already been around the tank a few times.....i just can't wait for the light!!!! sure hope the extra 200+ watts will look brighter and all!

i did not realize that a mj 1200 only pushes 295gph...so thats what i have or less going through my UV...hope thats not to low for that thing...i know its all about contact time though!! So lets see what happens....and my cleaner has set up a station and so far my coral beauty has stopped in for a cleaning.....and light will be here after 4!!!

Sweet  but if you can replace the PC actinics for VHO you won't regret the added watts :D trust me my 75 looks rock'n with them

good call....i will down the road...what do you think 2 110watt VHO...oh are those T5 or what all the different bulbs confuse me...i have seen 130watt PC before but i am trying to get away from that and head toward the T5s and such....i have been reading about ice cap balast and stuff and how i can over drive t5 with that so down the road i will for sure.....but thats wayyyy down the road lol....it looks like i am going to be using some pcv to make a stand for the light to be about 5 or 6inches off the water for now and see how i like it.

I like VHO better for actinics, really up to you but T-5 is less watts though. they have their ups and downs but IMO VHO are crazy! my tank is almost fully lit and corals POP and GLOW! But i would use an icecap, i have a 660 in storage until that magnetic powering the VHO dies (came with the kit i bought used)

cool thanks yeah since i am not using t-5 as my main lighting i think VHO is the way to go then...i am going to read up on them now!

LMK if you need any help/advice as mine has been on the run with me. i would like to try T-5's though but the price for the thing involves to much stuff and money :p

lol well the light will be on the tank tomorrow after i make my pvc holder thing and just bought a 57watt uv so theres a few updates lol....my wallet is slowing me down.
