Wash sand even though?

Do you guys wash the Carib sea special grade Agra-live sand even though it says to not do it on the bag?

No! If there is any remaining life within the sand, you are paying extra for that. So to rinse it all away would not be a good thing, IMO.

If placed gently, the CaribSea Live Sand doesn't cloud too much. And if it does, I have found that it clears pretty quickly. GL!

You're gonna get some cloudy water even when you rinse well.
Much less, but still it will take a couple of days to clear either way IMO

You paid extra for something in there supposedly, so you might as well not wash it away.

I would add the sand first then use a colander to add the water, or add the sand very slowly with a cup or the funnel and PVC method if there is already water in the tank.

I washed my 100 lbs of Carib live sand and got milk out of the first rinse. Did it help my water clarity,I don't know. I was just following advice I got here.

I would wash it in saltwater or your tank will likely be cloudy for several days. Just one more reason to buy dry sand.
