Water Change Bliss !!!

Did my first water change having the new basement sump in place. Wow, what a difference, no more contortions reaching the sump under the tank, no more spilling water on the living room rug, no more lugging five gallon pails up and down the stairs.

And it took me half the time. Nice start to a relaxing Sunday

A slick water change set up is quite liberating. Basement sumps (laboratories) are great if you can swing one.

Congrats. I remember the feeling.

Around 1996 I removed my sump, pumps (and back then) chiller from beneath a 6 foot 220. It meant removing a brace from the aquarium stand. Very nerve wracking.

Basement sump is the way to go. Do it right the first time. Turn a couple of valves and do a huge water change without shlepping buckets, sucking on hoses or bending over.

I did a huge change this morning while having a cup of coffee and posting on RC.

Water change bliss for sure.

I haven't installed a basement sump, mostly because we'll be moving in a couple of years, but there's a closet near my tank and I drilled a hole in the floor of the closet and bought an extra return pump. I don't have to lug water up the stairs anymore, just pump it into a Brute.
