Water clarity

Having a lot of issues with clarity and marine snow I have a 60 gallon tank with a 15 gallon sump and a super skimmer 60

I have tried running some filter floss and clarifier which helped some but not a lot so I am looking for some suggestions

So start with turning off all power heads if it goes away it's probably your sand is too fine and it's getting blown around. If it's still happening turn off your skimmer maybe micro bubbles are getting in from the output side trickling to fast through sump baffles. If it's still there then turn off return maybe so air is trapped in the lock lines or your return is sucking in air. Might be a baffle vs too much sump flow issue. Check your drain in the sump is it splashing breaking the surface or is it partially submerged. Good luck just some ideas lol

Its not bubbles it seems like sand but I am using aragonite large grain but if I blow a baster at my rocks I get a puff of really fine powder question is how get rid of it

Your rocks fill with detritus... More flow and a filter sock IMO... And/or you can use a powerhead manually and blow the rocks clean once in a while, which helps a ton...

I would try running some carbon in addition to the suggestions above.

Filter socks and filter floss will help if its detritus, carbon and water changes if it's built up organics, UV sterilizer and water changes if it's a bacterial bloom

I added an oversized UV to my system a bit ago, I've never had water so clean... I also skim, use carbon, and frequently changed filter socks... The UV has melted my algae as well for the most part... And I don't have to clean my glass nearly as often...

i also use a UV, works very well. they need to be oversized with the correct flow rates to work properly.

Seems like I have narrowed it down to dirty sand I vacuumed last night it was nasty ... I think during the calamity with the fire and stuff I replaced my sand but I didn't wash it so I am in for some significant water changes and sand vacuuming and filter changes

Still getting no where with this email problem over 50% water change this week and every time turn on. Power heads it is like a sandstorm in my tank skimmer is pulling some stuff out but it worse not better I ran filter sock an all it did was grow algae an make my cabinet stink at my wits end at this point

That's allot of new water. Need to keep running new filters and keep the detritus suspended with flow and basting. Keep at it, it will go away.

Burned most of a bucket of salt ....buying a new skimmer hope that helps too a filter flossing we will go

Well.. Still fighting this so today I built a carbon reactor and put my chemipure in it and then put 2 layers of foam see if that makes a difference

Well I honestly don't know if in the last two weeks added a new skimmer vertex omega 130 (60g)I ran a heavy dose of clarifier with filter pads/sock in place I have changed 60 gallons of waters vacuumed sand bed twice and now added a reactor don't know what to do next

Also getting diatoms on glass daily so I know I am having a phosphate boom.but from where I don't know ... Also changed the DI filter on my rodi before the water changes
