Is 16X tank volume to much for a Zoo QT tank? or should i try to slow it down a bit ? if so to what 5x 10x what would be ideal

I think you are fine, as long as the coral is open you are ok, you do want to make sure detritus gets swept away.

Seems like a pretty good number to me. just try not to have it all aiming in the same general area.

You're talking about a QT tank. You shouldn't need that much flow. QT doesn't need to be set up for "ideal" growing conditions. I'd think between 5 and 10x would be fine. If you plan to use the QT for fish as well and it is small (10 to 20 gallons), don't go overboard on the flow because it could stress out the fish in such a small tank -- something you are trying to avoid with QT.
