Water Quality report

well drinking RO water is "iffy" - need to take supplements due to no minerals in your water if you drink RO water for sure. Other people say "no" to drinking RO water- but I have not read enough to have an opinion. I use active carbon/and micron filter under my sink for drinking water and a RO unit for the tank.

we dont drink the ro water, but use carbon and micron for drinking water

(Disclaimer: Opinion not science!)
Drinking RO water will not "Hurt" you as an adult. Removed minerals from the water might effect a newborn or child. I have to agree I would rather drink RO than my cities water anyday.

As an adult you get most of your minerals from food not water so removing what it does unless you rely on a diet only of water you should not see any issues (unless you have other health issues)

Now depending on who paid who for what research is where you will find your information. While I back no one most all items you drink purchased were treated via an RO process (minus DI)

As far as my water quality report it irks me that in 2002 when they last had to legally run the test they noticed elevated (insert anything bad here) but have not produced any public tests on it since because the numbers were not high enough (yet) to be of concern.. Then you have the new Pennsylvania MYTH of all the shale offput and radiation.. so who knows what to believe anymore.

All the lies and bull crap nowadays just makes ya wanna give the Government a big pat on the back............ witha closed fist lol.

My whole family, dogs and fish included, drink our tap water on occasion (filtered through to fridge for the humans), and everyone is healthy. Best of all, the third ear that I grew on my head is great for hearing distant office chatter :D

Maybe you could frag it off and sell it. I see a new business in your future:fun2:

That lead level you mentioned is a bit misleading. It shows the maximum level they tested at individual houses, not the level leaving the plant nor the average level. If they test 100 houses (I don't know how many they test) and 99 are at 0.01 ppm lead, but one really old house with a lot of lead solder tests at 13 ppm, they have to report the 13 ppm level.

That does not mean you might not want to run some sort of filtration for your drinking water. But, I would also not assume you are going to get lead poisoning either.

If you think your getting good minerals in your diet/food- Think again- unless your eating organic. Studies show that veges grown in fields where they have grown the same crop year after year are low in several minerals. I will try to find some links to show you. Basically , farmers have become so specialized at growing one crop the don't rotate or leave fields fallow anymore, so the minerals become depleted from the soil- then they are not in the veges- which is then eaten by us or feed to animals (chicken/beef ). So , we eat the beef, chicken, and veges that are all low in some minerals compared to the past levels= we get less minerals in our food.

Which should I be more concerned about, the glass of R/O water I just drank or the Five Guys burger and fries I just sloppily devoured?

ps - just kidding... it was a beer.

I just watched Food Inc. recently, and while I'm sure they were anything but neutral observers, it did get me thinking about where I get my food from. My brother is hoping to work on a 100% organic farm (i.e. no chemical fertilizers, grazing farm animals, etc) and I'm very seriously considering just taking up a bunch of money and buying entire slaughtered animals. The way we raise and slaughter animals in this country is somewhat of a concern to me, since we're not raising healthy animals to slaughter and eat.

As for minerals, lets be honest, all of the info about levels in drinking water and in the streams, lakes and rivers is all bent for a political purpose. Some people want you to believe that it's tremendously dangerous, and the fear-mongering media wants you tuning in to their "special report" at 5 (really 5:30, so you watch 3 rounds of commercials first.) Other people don't really worry at all about the environmental impact of their actions, and they want you to believe that no matter what we do, we can't affect mother nature. The truth is most certainly somewhere in the middle, where our impact isn't nearly as pronounced as some claim, but is more important than others want to admit or realize.

All that to say, I drink water from the tap, my mom's very dynamic softy/LPS reef drinks from their tap, and all our animals drink from the tap, and none of us are worse for wear because of it. I also drink bottled water, mainly because it's more convenient, and while it is processed through R/O filters, they re-add sodium bicarbonate and calcium chloride for taste.

Yes- to the whole animal idea - i get 1/4 of a cow at a time from a patient that is not certified organic- but does not use any steroids, or non organic chemicals in the feeds and their cows roam free to graze each day.

Ted-do they sell to the public, or just to you since you have a relationship with you? If you don't mind shooting me a PM, I'd be curious as to the $ that would be also, just for comparison's sake.
