i have 4 different pumps and icecaps t5 and my water temp clocks in around 80-82 is that too high if so i was thinking about reducing my skimtime to skim only at night to help reduce the water temp because the pump for my skimmer puts out a ton of heat

80 - 82 degrees isn't too high. If it gets above 83 or 84, that's whey you should start becoming concerned. If you're really worried, try lowering the temperature on your heater...that should help.

You're fine. I have my temp set at 82F, during day it climbs up to 84. As long it is stable, everyone in tank will adapt and live happily there :) Just try to keep it below 89F :)

YOur tank is fine. Actually, complete stability is not required. A 2-3 degree swing is rarely a problem. Natural reefs will often deviate much more than this.

85 is the danger point at which bleaching will occur, and it can happen within a few hours. I prefer to run at 79, so that I have a bit more leeway if the day is particularly hot. Now that we're getting into summer---no lids is a good thing (eggcrate can keep fish from carpet-surfing) and a fan to increase evaporation will help with temperature fluctuations. (Evaporation=cooling.) But you may have to top off more.

My tank gets to 84ish un the summer with no ill effects. But like has been said before, stability is the key. If you temps are steadily 82-84, things will adapt.
