Installed a Klir fleece filter today. This device is pretty neat. Really easy to assemble and install. Quiet operation and fits perfectly in a standard 4" filter sock holder.

I've been super interested in those roller filters but I can't seem to find one that will just "drop in" to the 7" rectangle sock slots on my Eshoppes sump. Been torn between the Klir and Clarisea but I just don't want to do a big retrofit for an already running system.

My Klir came with 2 extra round adapter rings. Perhaps you can find an acrylic shop to make you a rectangular one? Having to do major retrofit on an establish system would be a hassle.

My tank is still cycling so not much is getting caught in the fleece. Hopefully I can see how it performs when I add livestock in a few weeks.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking that the Klir would be easiest to integrate that way. Only catch is that I need two side-by-side so I need to see if there is enough room to squeeze them in the sump like that. I've got a buddy that has some industrial laser CNC machines so will probably work with him to make an adapter.

Hey mnml,

What kind of rock did you use and where did you get it? Love the look! once it's filled in with coral it will look awesome.

Hey Obiwan,

Thanks for the kind words. The rocks are called Stax from Two Little Fishies. I got them from saltwateraquarium.com. Got about 55 lbs in my tank.

It honestly looks like they took calcium carbonate rock and used a band saw to cut it into "œlayers" an inch or so thick. Awesome idea as it gives you a lot of options and once everything grows in you will have a sweet aquascape. I'm tagging along on this one to see how things end up. Might try the band sawed rock approach on my next tank!

That’s a really cool idea. I’m sure you can DIY if you have the right saw. Thanks for following along. Planning to visit Reefapalooza here in SoCal in Oct. Will be stocking the tank then.

Picked up a CoralBox doser. I was pleasantly surprised on how accurate this pump is once it's calibrated. The app makes setup a breeze.

Woah the smaller clown is epic! That helmet is insane! What breeder is it from?

Thanks. I'm not sure what breed. My LFS had it labeled as "Designer" clown. My wife and kids picked them out.

Looks like a "bullet holes" or "frostbite" to me, there are a few companies that sell them that I'm aware of like Sea and Reef or Proaquatix.
