Waterbox Bio-Balls- To use or not to use

Set up my Waterbox 50.3 over the holiday break. This tank comes with a bag of bio-balls that can go in one of the back chambers.

I have about 60lbs worth of liverock and a tunze 9004 dc skimmer. The tank also comes with two filter socks that sit in the overflow chambers.


The question is, do I use the bio-balls? I remember reading mixed reviews of their benefits.

I would not use the bioballs, plenty of live rock. Maybe use that space for a Refugium?

I chucked mine, didn't use them.

I figured they weren't worth using. Heard they can cause more harm then good. Just wanted to make sure.
