Anyone use the Wave2k corner unit? Im thinking about running on on my 55 and didnt know if anyone has any thing to say

Don't know about the corner units. I have a center unit (80gal. DT)and it works great. I bought mine from the guy that makes them, he's very personable and stands behind his product. If you have any problems with the unit, he's more than happy to answer any questions.

I had a wave2k center unit and replaced it with a tunze wavebox. I found the wave2K to be noisy and it broke within six months. I can't hear the Tunze unless I place my hear against the aquarium and it has functioned flawlessly for over 9 months. I cleaned the impeller assembly after six months. I personally prefer the water movement the Tunze produces as well. The only drawback I see is that the tunze is ~2X the price. However, I paid 3X the price by trying the wave2k first. I'd recommend going with the Tunze. I do agree that wave2K has great customer service and did replace broken parts when the problems occurred. I just think their design is more prone to failures.

Yeah from what Ive been reading around they are very noisy and wear out easily. I think im going to go with the tunze. The only problem is how large wave makers are. I cant accomplish the flow in areas I want with power heads so I thought I would take this route instead.

I too had a center unit. It worked well for about three months. About that time it started to make a cliking noise, they tell you NOT to open the box and ALWAY remove the drive belt when the machine is off. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY.
It's sitting in my basement now, I do wish I had bought a tunze.
