wavebox extension

I have a wavebox extension with no controller (6091). I was looking into buying a 7096 to run the extension, but a will eventually need a controller for my system. I was looking into a apex. I understand that the apex can control regular tunze pumps, but does anyone know it also do what a 6091 or 7096 can?
