Wavebox issue

I have a 6215 wavebox and it works great except for one problem. The pump keeps shoving itself back inside the box and angling upward causing the wave to die.

Is there a new backing sponge or something that will stop this from happening? Its a pain in the butt to get to the wavebox to reposition the pump every day.

A 6215 should have included a 6215.300 foam pan, this is required. If it is an older 6212, they used a 6212.300 if it is the original 6260 or 6261 pump. If it has been retrofitted with a 6215.200 pump, it needs the 6215.300 pan.

yeah it was a retrofit after the pump burned out. I got the correct foam for it but which part is the pan?

ok yeah I do have that, but I dont have the orings.

Seems like an Oring on the outside of the snout(part that comes out of the box) might hold it in place....

If you still have the packaging the pump came in, double check, the orings are sometimes loose (carded bags) and sometimes in the blue box the pump was in, also in carded bags. They should both go on the inside, one on the outside and one on the inside can work, but makes much more noise and if the pump can't move forward, it can't work loose to move back.

Ok I found the other Oring, and put it on, but I also noticed the sponge seems to be falling apart some. How long are those supposed to last? Ive only had it for about 2 years.

I have yet to see a sponge fall apart, but I suppose it is possible. I would generally expect them to last a few years at least but I am sure in certain conditions, maybe some animal is gnawing it, etc, it could have a shorter life.

Well that sponge seems to be the cause of the problem. It was sitting dry for 8 months but I cant see how that would cause it to degrade.

Any chance I can get a replacement?
