I've got a wavebox that I purchased in December of last year and I've had more issues with it than I expected. I'm wondering if it is normal or maybe just the unit. From day one I've not been able to adjust the wave to get any height more than about 3/4". As far as I know I have to have the pulse control set at around the minimum but I've had to set it at max in order to get any height. I've also had to clean it about every 3 months because it quits working but when I clean it there's nothing evident to cause the problem. Any help is appreciated.

Do you have the box mounted so that there are no obstructions infront of it and it has a clear short across the tank? When you adjust frequency it needs to be done in tiny increments. Typically the min or fastest pulse is used on short tanks like 48". If you have not already I would set the pumps power to full and start with a fast pulse then move ever so slowly to a longer. Basically if you can see the dial turn as you adjust frequency you moved it too much as you can easily jump right past the sweet spot, give it a min or two between each adjustment.
The tank is six feet long and another person I know sets it between 10 and 12 and gets a big wave but mine just doesn't work that way. But the biggest concern is that it stops working for no apparent reason. It was doing it again last week and I've since taken it apart and cleaned it. I didn't find anything that would be a reason for it to stop but when I put it back together it has stopped again. Every time, the lights show it switching but the pump is not working. If I disconnect the power it will reset but only for a short period of time. This seems more of an electrical than mechanical problem. No alarms or anything going off to show that the controller even knows there is an issue. Does that make any sense?
