Wavebox on a Profilux II

I installed a wavebox on my 120 today. I am cotrolling it with my Profilux II plus but I think the wavebox lacks power. I thought this was supposed to move water from side to side.

Here are my settings...

Permanent
Voltage 3v low 8v high
0-100% power
3 second duration
Right handed wave short

any thoughts?

I dont know anything about the Profilux, might have to post on thier forum. But have you tested it with the Tunze controller that came with it?

when you say it lacks power does the pump even spin? If it does move water my first guess is the frequency is not set properly to your tank

Problem likely is either placement or the freqency(on off) of the pump not being set right if you are not getting a wave. When they are not set to the right timings they wont do much but. Also the pump needs a clear line of sight in front of it as well to effectively create the wave.

If you use the controller that came with it start it with is set all the way counter clockwise with a 4' tank. Then slowly move the dial in tiny increments(barely noticeable) clockwise waiting a minute between each move.

if that 3 second time mentioned above the time timing off the on off cycle it seems rather long is my guess

The 3 second time is a problem in many ways. The wavebox is designed to switch on and off from .4 seconds to 1.5 seconds. 3 seconds is both too long for a wave and potentially damaging to the power supply. Use the controller that was included.

Thanks Roger, I lowered the frequency to 0.62ss (like the book says) and I can see a noticeble change. I guess i was just too worried about having it so frequent thinking that I was going to damage it, But i guess that's what they are built for!

Thanks again,

Jose
