Way OT: "WTB GIXXER!"

It has recently come to Jenee's (wife's) attention that fuel prices are high and motorcycles consume MUCH less fuel than 1-ton diesels.

Yay!

So, I shall strike while the iron is hot.

I am looking for a later model Suzuki GSX-R 750 or 1000.

Who do you know or whatcha got?

TIA

how much moto experience do you have? (not at all trying to say dont get either) The 1000 is alot of bike to handle and the 750 is awesome! But if you dont have alot of experience the 600 is an awesome bike and is still faster than anyone really needs to go!

I have an R6 currently and would love to get a 750. There are a few sites I check out pretty often...search for BARF moto and it will get you there...ill see if my buddy still has his 750 for sale or not, he was on the fence...

Started at 16yrs old with a honda shaft drive 500. Latest bike 20+ yrs later is a big bore Harley that gets no ride time as I do not care to spend $1k every trip to fix the durn thing.

Experience is not an issue.

That being said: I have never owned a dedicated "sport" bike and that is where I lust to be...

I ride an BMW R1200C, as my last few bikes have all been sport bikes and they suck for commuting on. Uncomfortable. But, if you want one, awesome for you! ;)

I had a 2002 Honda VFR800A Interceptor a few years back. I think they are the best combination of sport and touring, aside from some of the nicer (read: much more expensive) BMWs.

ha ha, NO saddle bags on a sport bike! I just bring my backpack with me to the reef shops and havent lost anything yet. Id love to get a harley but only as a project and something to ride for like sunday morning coffee....the sportbike is fun, rode it to monterey and back for motogp and only spent about 50 bucks on gas for the weekend, witht he 600 i get about 45-47 mpg riding pretty much around 85-90 and if I slowed it down could probably top 50mpg.

I ride a Kawi Z750.... also called a naked ninja... It rides more upright than a standard street bike and will still dust the 600 series.. These are great because they are ridiculous fast but offer a more comfortable riding position. Other options like it are the suzuki bandit, and the yamaha FZ1. If it is a commuter/toy you might want to look into these Kevbo :)

i was watching the news a while back..... it stated that basically....

yes gas is expensive, but cars are alot cleaner to drive because they have all the smog components. where as a bike are cheaper to drive but pollute the air alot more......not to mention they are fun to drive but...shrug

so....save money ruin the already bad air quality.....or spend money to save it for our children....

it was quite a depressing news cast lol

Right on Kevin!!!

I would get a 750 for sure.

A 1000 is to much bike for the street.

Unless you want to do 100 mph wheelies down the freeway then go for it LOL.

I prefer Ducati's but they have some similar problems that harly's do.
To bad you did not get the the go ahead about a month ago,

I just sold a GSXR 750.

Kevin when you get one let me know as I am always looking for someone to ride with.

Here is my toy!!
