Way OT: "WTB GIXXER!"

My cousin is a captain in the fire dept. and he recommends a large full face helmet, that way they have something to put all the small peices in. He told me that after I got hit from behind at an intersection, Marconi and winding way. I loved my 750 four. Had 5 yrs on it. No matter what you get, just be safe and defensive as "HE double tooth picks" . That makes me sound really old now.

Just watched the opening again , thats bike kicks butt, GET A HARLEY. Buy American, Be American!

I have a 2008 GSXR 600 White and Blue with only 240 Miles on it! I am selling it because I ride motocross way way to much and don't ride on the street to much. PM if you are looking for a newer bike.

Thanks for all the input and offers guys. This has been a fun OT so far.

I think for our budget and my wants and abilities, I'm looking at being able to shop for a 1999-2005 gsxr 750. My CFO capped me at financing $5k.

Here's the cruiser last time I had it running and pretty. Sadly it is currently covered in dust and non-op due to the sparsity of shovelhead electrical experts. I've paid over $5k just trying to resolve it's gremlins and at that, I drew the line. I only keep it as a favor to a brother from another mother that has gone to the other side.

Rest in peace W. A. F.

Doug, thanks for asking me to share!

Riding that bike is like giving crack to a caffeinated elephant: Fun, but scary as anything and nearly impossible to control nor predict! Compound that with the insane maintenance and repair costs... Added to the rarity of professionals to complete said tasks... Well, you get the picture.

Hence, the desire for a sportbike...

You see, thats what draws me to hot rods and bikes.....I kinda am under the impression they need to be a little that way......roughing it like camping. No radios, no AC, sometimes no seatbelts......and no cupholders!!!

Bikes......rigid frames, loud, and kickstart.

You want comfortable, I say buy a Caddy!!

But I totaly understand the sportbkie thing, its the torque, style and noise that I love about V-twins.

And nothing sounds better than a supercharger whine to me.

Still looking. Just missed a great one on e:bay. I've got time on my side - To a degree. Just have to execute before the Mrs. finds a new direction.

Man... GL on your search. Did you try local stores to see if they had any used? Are you looking new or used? I have a buddy that works at PCP Yamaha maybe they may have one.... Shoulda posted this up 2 months ago as my other buddy sold his to get the new Ducatis... Suckas are mean....

Got it. Love it: 2005 Suzuki GSX-R 1000.

Thank you, and you know who you are.

Jenee and I are out as often as possible in the days we've had our newest bikes: Her cruiser, me rocket. Best ever overall machine I have owned. Hope it stays that way. When I say rocket, this thing is a volcano with a throttle. My experience to-now is big-bore Harleys. Totally different. Not to mention that it goes where I "think". I don't ride so much as 'feel' it. Don't get me wrong: American thumper has it's place, but I haven't had a thrill like this...
