This acrylic cover was made by Lee Mar and came with my tank. They used clear rubber adhesive on one side to keep the lid from moving when sitting on the overflow. You can easily make this using some acrylic pieces on your own. Let me know if you have any questions.

Seems easy enough! Appreciate the pictures, thank you!

Well the tank is full and salty! Got the Apex hooked up and threw about 1/4 of the live rock I have into the tank.. I'm thinking I am going to have some live rock for sale soon.. For the aquascaping I want to do, I have way too much.

Regardless, here a a few shots of where she stands as of tonight. (The maxijet is only there temporarily)

Looking pretty good so far. Nice touch with the DJ switch board, having the independent switched outlets is a huge advantage IME, I'll never not use something similar. If you can label every plug and switch for easier reference or if someone else takes care of your tank for a weekend. I would recommend putting the mp40 on the other side of the tank. That way it blows the surface scum to the overflow rather than into the left back corner. It will also increase flow where you have more footprint/future coral.

Thank you! Yeah there will eventually be a 2nd MP40 from my other tank on the opposite side. Appreciate you lookin out.

Care to explain why would you advise this? Just because he has a herbie does not mean fish and snails can't get into his overflow.

There are teeth in the OF so no fish will go over anyway. A lot of very experience people even recommend an overflow without teeth as they are really not needed. For a lot of OFs lids are used to dampen the noise, with a Herbie there is no noise, so no need lid!

Tank is looking really good, what is your livestock list?

And how about snails? They can craw into the top of the overflow without a lid... I do not want to spend my time reaching down the overflow to grab snails. Having a lid is way more beneficial than not having one. It also prevents algae growth inside your overflow from the lights. That alone makes this $10-15 investment worth it.

I see what you are saying but I have heard many of stories of fish jumping into overflows and it is very tough to retrieve them.

Thank you, I have a Scribbled Rabbitfish, Bluesided Wrasse, Lineatus Wrasse, Occelaris Clown and some coral that need to be moved over. Other than that, I am not too sure as of yet.

Btw, nice progress. How do you plan on skinning the stand?

Looking at doing something like this:

I got the slides off Ebay already, just gotta get to putting it all together.

New harem of Anthias! There is actually a smaller third female that found a nice hole to peek out of and wasnt feeling too photogenic.
